 <description>&lt;p&gt;Calgary Opera seeks a skilled writer / publicist with a passion for the arts to create promotional and publicity materials, proposals, and grant applications, and to manage all media relations for the company. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Specific Duties &amp;amp; Responsibilities:&lt;br /&gt;
•	Research operas and write copy for brochures, posters and other promotions for mainstage productions.&lt;br /&gt;
•	Write contents for subscriber newsletters, house programs, and donor publications.&lt;br /&gt;
•	Write case statements and proposals for corporate and individual fundraising campaigns.&lt;br /&gt;
•	Research and write proposals for foundations.&lt;br /&gt;
•	Write copy for grant applications and reports for a variety of government agencies and other funders.&lt;br /&gt;
•	Write PSAs, listings, and media releases for all events, programs, and productions.&lt;br /&gt;
•	Publicize all events and productions and coordinate all media requests, interviews, photo calls, etc.&lt;br /&gt;

 <title>U of C New york City Credit Travel Study</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Hello all: Through the University of Calgary, I am offering a for-credit travel study course called &quot;New York City: Broadway Musicals, Music, and Culture&quot; May 8 to 17, 2009 with a few classes ahead of time. This is the third time I have run this course. There are no prerequisites for the course and students may take it at the 300 or 500 level according to their own programme needs. &lt;p&gt;GIRAF4: The 4th Annual Giant Incandescent Resonating Animation Festival takes place this November 5-8, 2008 at Quickdraw Animation Society and the Plaza Theatre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. GIRAF celebrates the spirit of independent and underground animation, showcasing animators from across Canada and around the Globe. GIRAF is the only exclusively independent animation festival in&lt;br /&gt;
Canada, with a hands-on approach, focusing on process and experimentation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We are now looking for YOUR independent short animation submission for competition in this year’s festival! We are also interested in project proposals which bridge disciplines of animation with new forms of contemporary art, including performance, installation and new media projects...&lt;/p&gt;
