Creative Calgary Congress 2016
Tuesday, November 22, 2016, 9:00am – 4:30pm

Do you have an interest in Calgary becoming the best possible place for all citizens? If so, then please join us at the 2016 Creative Calgary Congress.

This event is specifically for curious, creative, compassionate Calgarians who want to dig into some of the current ideas and creative challenges in our city today.

Calgary Arts Development is creating a space where speakers, activators, and forward thinking Calgarians come together to share ideas and explore new and renewed ways of working together.

Morning speakers and presentations will take place at the DJD Dance Centre (111 12th Ave. SE). At noon we will move one block west to Hotel Arts for a buffet lunch followed by two activation sessions in the afternoon.

Speakers and Presenters Include:

  • Jim Dewald, Dean, Haskayne School of Business, U of C
  • Jim Button, Connector, Marketer, Leader
  • Lauren Voisin, Chief Robot Maker, Robots are Fun
  • Dancing Parkinson’s YYC
  • Brian Calliou, Program Director, Indigenous Leadership and Management, The Banff Centre
  • Micheline Maylor, Calgary’s Poet Laureate
  • Wrong Kind of Girls

During the afternoon you are invited to participate in two activation sessions of your choice. Be prepared to share ideas, challenge assumptions, and meet new allies. These sessions will be led by Calgarians whose work is helping to make our city more curious, compassionate and creative.
