Music Calgary is thrilled to present the first SoundOff Summit, held June 21 to 23, 2017, with partners Alberta Music, Sled Island, and support from FACTOR.
A key group of national and international music industry folks have been parachuted in for the Summit, including Saddle Creek Records, Paper Bag Records, Brace Yourself, AdHoc promotions, Big Fun Festival, Tin Angel Records, and more. These booking agents, record labels, managers, and publicists will witness the energy Sled Island brings to the city and the local support for music and discovery.
Local industry folks from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, The Gateway, Tooth Blackner, Beat Drop School, and Calgary touring musicians will join them to share music business knowledge and insights at the summit and mixer events. It will be a very inspirational three days that includes information about funding support, best promotional practices, the future of music in the media, tour advice from road weary bands and A&R label perspectives. Alberta Music also presents CMI mentorship meetings, presented by Alberta Music, and there’s a limited ability to participate in one-on- one meeting sessions.
It’s a unique opportunity for artists, music industry and festival attendees to interact with visiting industry folks to learn about many facets of the music industry and equip themselves with invaluable career-enhancing knowledge.
Admission is free to all Music Calgary, Alberta Music members, and Sled Island wristband holders. For full schedules and RSVP links visit musiccalgary.ca.
