Considering themes of resistance, protest, and empowerment the 2017 programming will expand upon the plurality for defining femme identities that we explored in 2016.
Submissions should be project specific but can centre around either existing or proposed work.
There is no maximum or minimum word requirements for your submission documents, please be concise but use the space that you need to communicate your idea best.
Submissions should include the following:
- Project description.
- Artist statement, either project specific or more general to your practice.
- CV (optional).
- Three to five images of proposed work.
- Any other additional information you think we might need to understand your project.

Programmed artists will receive a $100 artist fee and a festival wristband.
Femme Wave is a feminist arts festival that takes place on Treaty 7 territory and the traditional territory of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Nakoda (Stoney), and Tsuut’ina, also known as Calgary, Alberta.
The festival is committed to supporting opportunities for women and non-binary artists.
