Julie Baratta works as Executive Assistant to the President and CEO and provides support to Calgary Arts Development's staff as Office Manager. As a recent graduate of the Alberta College of Art + Design, with a BFA in Fibre, she also works to maintain her role as a textile artist.

As a textile artist, Julie has exhibited locally in group exhibitions and has appeared in such publications as Ornamentum, Canadian Decorative Arts, as well as Fibre Arts Magazine, Contemporary Textile Art and Craft. Her main interests lie in decorative and hand printed textiles, installation and production. As a founding member of Contextural: a fibre arts cooperative, Julie is helping to build a community of textile artists that fosters a cooperative creative environment in support of the production of new artistic works, and as a way to raise awareness of fibre arts in Calgary.
