How To: Start Posting to your Creative Calgarian Journal
Thanks to everyone who has signed up and posted to their Creative Calgarian Journal on our site. If you'd like to contribute but are not certain how to, read on for a step by step guide:
- Sign up for an account on the calgaryartsdevelopment.com website (http://www.calgaryartsdevelopment.com/user/register)
- Watch your email inbox for your login credentials.
- Log into the site using the one time sign-in link from your email or by inputing your username and generated password.
- It's a good idea to change your password to something you can remember. You will either be redirected to you account edit page or you can click 'my account' in the left column user menu, then the 'edit' tab at the top the main content area.
- Click the 'create content' link that's now available in the left column under your username.
- Click 'Creative Calgarian Journal entry' which will take you the page where you can write your journal.
- On the input page you must fill in all fields with a red asterisk. Write your post in the 'Body' field. You can use the rich-text editor to format your text and create links.
- Click the preview button and make sure everything looks ok, then hit submit to post your entry to the site.
- Watch the 'users by creativity points' that's available in your username menu to see who has made the most posts and don't forget to leave comments on other's entries.
Including an image in your post:
- Within the 'Body' field, place the cursor where you want to insert your image and press the button with a picture of a tree.
- An insert image pop-up will appear. Click the browse button that proceeds the Image URL field.
- You will now see the image browser. Click the Browse button and select the image you want to upload (make sure it's no bigger than 500x500px), then click upload.
- Your image will now appear in the list of available images. Click the 'add' link associated with your image under 'operations'.
- Now you will see your image info in the insert pop-up. Set alignment, border and space option then click the insert button to place your image.
