If you were wandering around Inglewood last night and thought you heard the waffling bass of a world-class jug player... you heard right! The Calgary Arts Development team was out in force to take in the Highwater Jug Band's CD release party.

Thanks to the organizing efforts of Pam Lang, our Artsmart wrangler, we took a break from the hectic pace we've been keeping to indulge in great food, drink and music at the Ironwood.

The place was packed, anticipation high... and the band did not disappoint. And what a broad range of clientele... the audience ranged from young hipsters to what one might call "veterans of the music scene."

I guess because it's part of my job, but also because I really love this stuff... I couldn't but think... not many other places in the world are there this many people having such a good time listening to their local jug band superstars!
