Thank You, Calgary 2012!

With Calgary's tenure as a Cultural Capital of Canada coming to a close at the end of March 2013, Calgary Arts Development would like to thank the team at Calgary 2012 for all their hard work throughout the past year, engaging Calgarians from all backgrounds and making a direct investment of $3,961,500 in Calgary's arts and culture sector.

Calgary 2012 leaves many significant legacies in its wake, some of which will be transferred to the stewardship of Calgary Arts Development. Among these are InvestYYC, a new crowdfunding platform for artists and arts organizations; the Cultural Leaders Legacy Artist Awards, a series of five donor-supported awards offering $5,000 each for artists for the next four years, to be given out annually at the Mayor’s Lunch for Arts Champions; and a $50,000 investment in the Citizens’ Reference Panel portion of the Arts Plan process.
