Part talk show, concert and art craft gathering showcasing and celebrating the intersections of art, creativity and activism hosted by Kenna Burima.
ArtistSpeak* is a unique and intimate event. Created, curated and produced by musician, songwriter, producer and educator Kenna Burima, she is keen for big conversations, self awareness and social change. The event facilitates all these things and more by building and nurturing a safe and comfortable setting at Congress Coffee that puts artists and audience members first.
This November 28, 2024 at Congress Coffee, join host Kenna as she delves into the intersections of creativity and mental health. The evening features an incredible line up of artists speaking with Kenna about how they navigate their own mental health through creative processes and expressions.
Doors open at 6:30, show starts at 7pm.
Advance tickets $25/$30 door. Craft supplies included.
Along with performances, and art showing, educator Eddy Robinson will be leading a collective craft of journal making after the intermission. This craft exercise allows everyone to process what has been heard and seen and experience the space and support of community in action. It is a beautiful experience celebrating artists and their creativity in changing the world.
Adora Nwofor is an award-winning comedian, activist, event planner, producer, writer, artistic director fashionista.
John F. Gerrard is a multidisciplinary artist who merges mental health advocacy with his art and writing practice.
Amy Nelson is a singer, songwriter and musician, who pens sad, introspective songs that speak to the travails of modern times.
Eddy Robinson is a harm reduction and gender diversity educator, advocate and activist.
Riverwest Therapy Collective is a collective of mental health practitioners, each in our own private practices, working together to promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for our clients, clinicians, and community. Practitioners will be in attendance to hold space and offer support for both artists and audience members will in attendance.
