Important SpaceFinder Alberta Update
We would like to thank you for your ongoing support for SpaceFinder Alberta over the past five years, not only by listing your spaces and working with us as partners, but also by championing and promoting the project within your networks.
It was this support that helped in the success of the project.
It is our difficult task to tell you that the SpaceFinder platform across North America will be ending, effective late summer 2020.
SpaceFinder was developed by Fractured Atlas, a New York arts advocacy organization. Unfortunately Fractured Atlas will no longer be supporting the SpaceFinder platform. As SpaceFinder headquarters in the US is winding up, ArtsBuild Ontario, the head licensee for Canada, is actively seeking a new solution to help Canadians find space in our communities.
Alberta is the most successful SpaceFinder in all of North America in terms of space listings per capita. It has been an effective way to connect venue operators with short-term renters all over our province, animating venues and helping renters find the perfect space. Because of this success, Calgary Arts Development and Arts Habitat Edmonton are actively engaging with ArtsBuild Ontario to determine the transition plan to a possible new platform.
We are grateful that you chose to list your venues with SpaceFinder Alberta and we look forward to sharing our progress in finding a new platform in the coming months.
