Our Condolences
We are saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Peter Boyd. Peter contributed to our great city in so many ways, but our memories of him centre primarily around his passion for the arts.
Peter served on the Board of Directors of Calgary Arts Development for several years including four years as Chair (2009-2012). His leadership helped guide Calgary Arts Development toward a new vision and his influence expanded the circle of arts supporters in our city. His unflinching dedication to the arts and artists, and the value they bring to our lives was instrumental in Calgary being selected as a Cultural Capital of Canada in 2012. He was also deeply involved in the development of the Arts Plan, which became Living a Creative Life: An Arts Strategy for Calgary.
An amazing arts champion, Peter was an example of someone who knew how to live a creative life and encourage those around him to do the same. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family. He will be missed.
