The Calgary Arts Academy Youth Arts Award recognizes the impact young artists have in our community through work that inspires spirited citizenship, belonging, mastery (e.g. learning/self-defined success), independence and generosity.
There are two awards. One award will recognize a young artist whose practice focuses on a visual and/or media arts medium (e.g. painting, sculpture, filmmaking, photography, videography, etc.) and the other will be awarded to a young artist with a performance and/or literary practice (e.g. music, dance, theatre, circus, play/film writing, narrative work, poetry, etc.). You must choose one of the two options listed below.
Award winners MUST be available and present in Calgary to film their award acceptance video the week of April 13 – 17, 2026, and to attend the Mayor’s Celebration for the Arts event in Calgary on May 4, 2026, where the awards will be presented.
