CUFF.Docs Documentary Film Festival showcases the best in non-fiction films. The event, presented by the Calgary Underground Film Festival, screens 15+ full-length features as well as shorts, varying in subject, style and genres within the art form.
The upcoming 13th CUFF.Docs will take place at the Globe Cinema.
Submission Dates and Deadlines
- Opening Date: July 2, 2025 (filmfreeway)
- Regular Deadline: September 8, 2025
- Notification Date: September 30, 2025
- Event Date: November 4, 2025
Fees
- Feature Films: $20 / $30 for late submissions
- International Shorts: $15 / $20 for late submissions
- Canadian Shorts: $10 / $15 for late submissions
- *Free for alumni and Alberta filmmakers. Please email us for a waiver code if you meet either of these criteria.
Guidelines
Features films: must be a Calgary premiere, and not have screened in theatre, local festival or Canadian broadcast before our dates.
Short films: Priority is given to films which have not yet screened in Calgary.
We do not program films which were finished prior to last years festival.
Eligible films should have a festival release date ranging from late fall 2024 to current, 2025.

CUFF has two annual submission deadlines. One is for the Calgary Underground Film Festival, which takes place each April, the other is for CUFF.Docs Documentary Film Festival, which takes place each November.
