Account Manager

Type of Position: Full-time, term contract 14 months

Working in our patron services team, the account manager is responsible for a portfolio of accounts and acts as the primary contact between Alberta Ballet and our donors and subscribers. Alberta Ballet has recently launched a new strategic plan, with goals to increase the number of subscribers and members across the province. Account managers are responsible for making sales, handling client requests and complaints, and collecting and analyzing customer data.

The account manager’s primary goal is to improve the overall experience for Alberta Ballet community members and deepen their engagement with the organization.

The account manager will steward and grow relationships with their assigned community members (accounts) and play a key role in supporting the strategic design and implementation of community engagement programs, while effectively executing key ticket sales and fundraising activities to support Alberta Ballet’s operating budget.

Key Deliverables/Responsibilities

  • Account stewardship.
  • Database management.
  • Event hosting and logistics.

Account Stewardship:

  • Provide excellent customer service and account stewardship.
  • Be the direct point of contact between Alberta Ballet and the community to understand client needs and motivations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to facilitate client need fulfillment.
  • Assist in the delivery and implementation of membership benefits.
  • Support the creation and delivery of patron messaging to keep community members engaged and inspired.
  • Implement strategies to acquire, cultivate, solicit, renew, and upgrade individual donors and subscribers.
  • Maintain an active portfolio of donor and subscriber prospects.

Database Management:

  • Manage information contained in donor and ticketing databases. Perform periodic maintenance to ensure that data is up-to-date and lacking duplicate records. Create mailing and emailing lists when needed by the department and organization.
  • Collect and analyze data to learn more about Alberta Ballet community members.
  • Oversee patron ticket purchases, donations and event attendance including logging, entering, and coding all patron interactions.

Event Hosting and Logistics:

  • Represent Alberta Ballet at performances and events to engage community members and develop donor relations in all cities of operation.
  • Collaborate with the director of brand engagement in the planning and implementation of patron recognition and cultivation events.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of additional fundraising initiatives such as Alberta Ballet’s raffle and casino initiatives.
  • Support event operations at performances and events to ensure excellence in patron communication and experience.

Qualifications & Key Competencies

  • Love for dance and the arts.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
  • Three to five years experience in a Customer Service role, preferably in ticketing or events.
  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing, or related field.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency with Office365 including Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook.
  • Exceptional communication and time management skills with the ability to prioritize.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong desire to achieve and celebrate departmental sales and service goals.
  • Organized, with extreme attention to detail.
  • Responsible, dependable, and trustworthy.
  • Knowledge of Archtics and Ticketmaster ticketing or Blackbaud platforms desirable, but must have ability to adapt to new technology and learn new systems quickly.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a police background check as a condition of employment.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Office environment.
  • On site at venues within Alberta.
  • Must be available evening and weekends during events and performances.
  • Travel within Alberta.
  • Occasional lifting of 20lbs or more.
