Animation Summer Camps for Youth
Quickdraw Animation Society
Dates: Beginning July 28 and continuing through August
Location: Quickdraw Animation Society (2011 10 Ave. SW, Sunalta, 5-10 minute walk from the Blue Line train station)
There’s still a chance to register to for our teen animation camps — learn the ins and outs of animating in our week-long camps!
Aspiring animators aged 12-17 can choose one of two teen camps this year: Fundamentals of Animation or Comics & Storyboarding!
In our Fundamentals of Animation day-camp, students will learn the fundamentals of animation in with traditional and digital methods. Learn how to draw on a computer, animate with pencil and paper, use cut-paper animation and more! Stretch, squash, jump, run and bring your ideas to life! Participants will create a brand new short animated film by the end of the week – complete with sound. Animation Experience not necessary.
In our Comics & Storyboarding day-camp, students will learn the ropes for drawing comics and storyboards to bring their original stories to life! Participants will explore different drawing techniques with emphasis on silhouette, emotional readability, cinematic shot composition, and by the end of the week students will create a short drawn sequence for an original story.
Full-Day Teen Camps (Ages 12-17) | 9am – 4:30pm
