Artist Call for Installation: Visual + Sound Artists Wanted

Crystal Wishes is a standalone projection structure that invites attendees to rest, reflect and wish aloud their hearts desires at the larger-than-life wishing well. Speak from the heart and watch as projections created by local artists react to your voice.
MAPPERZ returns with its fourth installation titled Crystal Wishes, coming to Chinook Blast and we are seeking both visual and sound artists to participate!
Visual Artists Scoop
- Artist fee: $1000
- Create a sound-reactive TouchDesigner file by January 23, 2026
- Opportunity to test your file before submission: January 17, 2026
- Sound Reactivity workshop TBA January 2026
- Crystal Wishes will use the visualizer from January 30 – February 16, 2026
Selected artists will create mapped and sound-reactive content for top-down projection setup, creating the “water” of the wishing well. Visual themes can include water, crystals, ice and magic.

Sound Artist’s Scoop
- Artist fee: $1000
- Create a 2 – 5 minute soundscape and one sound effect by January 16, 2026
- Crystal Wishes will use the soundscape from January 30 – February 16, 2026
The selected artist will create a soft, atmospheric soundscape that will be the background sound for our audio-reactive visuals. The artist will also create a separate ‘sound effect’ that will signal that the wishing well ‘heard’ a participant’s voice.

Checklist to Apply
- Letter of intent (Tell us about yourself. Why do you want to be a part of the project? What sort of experience have you had with TouchDesigner? etc).
- A selection of your work to give us an idea of what you will bring to the project.
Eligibility
- Must reside in Moh’kinstsis area.
- Must provide your own tools for creation (computer, TouchDesigner key).
- Must be available to attend sound-reactivity workshop in January if reactivity skills have not been demonstrated.
- Must be 18+.
While recognizing the algorithmic nature of reactive artworks and TouchDesigner, MAPPERZ WILL NOT consider to include art created from AI programs like Sora or Midjourney.
