Artist Sustainability & Pricing Survey
Ishtar Dance Collective
Survey deadline: April 10, 2026
The Ishtar Dance Collective Society is inviting artists to participate in an anonymous community survey exploring sustainability, pricing and the realities of working with clients in Calgary’s performance sector.
This initiative builds on ongoing community conversations and aims to better understand shared experiences, industry pressures and structural barriers impacting artists. The goal is not to set rules, but to gather insight that can help inform a community-driven understanding of pricing and support more sustainable practices across varying levels of experience.
The survey takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete, depending on how much detail participants wish to share. Responses are anonymous and will be summarized as themes only.
Survey results will help inform a community listening session taking place on May 3, 2026 at the Central Calgary Public Library, facilitated by Parker Chapple, focused on reflecting on shared experiences and strengthening understanding of the current performance landscape.
Artists and performers working in Calgary, particularly those engaged in independent or contract-based work, are encouraged to participate.
