Audain Indigenous Curatorial Scholar in Residence

We are now accepting applications for the new research-based residency in historical Indigenous art at the National Gallery of Canada, presented in partnership with the Audain Art Foundation.

This 3-year appointment, with a $50,000 per-annum stipend, is intended for senior Indigenous scholars, art historians, curators or conservators.

This residency supports research and scholarship in developing best practices for institutions that collect, exhibit and conserve Indigenous historic or traditional art at the NGC.

The residency includes:

  • Stipend: $50,000 per year
  • Travel: $20,000 per year
  • Access to NGC collections and staff
  • Dedicated publication: (to be produced during the third year of the fellowship)
  • Administrative support
