Elephant Artist Relief

Date: November 19, 2025
Time: 7pm
Cost: Free

Cost of living on your mind? You are not alone. Artists and cultural workers across Canada continue to face rising expenses, unstable income and barriers to fully participating in community life. Basic Income is one of the most widely discussed solutions — but what would it really mean for artists and for our broader social systems?

Join Elephant Artist Relief (EAR) on Wednesday, November 19 at 7pm MT for an important Umbrella Talk led by Wendy Benson from We’re Together Ending Poverty (WTEP), with a special guest speaker joining the conversation.

This session will explore:

  • What Basic Income is and how it works
  • Current national and provincial advocacy efforts
  • Why Basic Income is especially relevant for artists and gig-economy workers
  • How communities can take action and support this movement
  • Practical resources and updates from WTEP and Basic Income Calgary

This Umbrella Talk invites participants to learn, ask questions, and engage in a supportive conversation about pathways toward economic security for all.

Free to attend. Everyone welcome. Zoom link provided upon registration.
