Behind the Scenes: The Art and Science of Conservation

Step inside the world of Calgary’s beloved sculptor Katie Ohe for a special behind‑the‑scenes evening celebrating the restoration of her iconic work, Day and Night.
Join us on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 (4:30 – 6pm) at Devonian Gardens for a free public event that reveals how art, craft, and conservation come together.
The evening begins with a short documentary film tracing the sculpture’s journey from its outdoor park location to its newly restored indoor home. Following the screening, Public Art Conservator Sophia Zweifel and restoration specialist Alexander Boyd will host an engaging Q&A, sharing stories and techniques from the conservation process. We’ll finish with a guided tour of Fragment to Form, an exhibition showcasing additional works by Katie Ohe.
