The Betty Mitchell Awards is currently seeking new volunteer board members to join our team. If you’re passionate about theatre, committed to celebrating excellence in our community and ready to roll up your sleeves to support this vital organization — we want to hear from you!
As a board member, you’ll play a key role in shaping the direction of the Betty Mitchell Awards and ensuring its continued success. Our board is actively involved in all facets of planning and executing the annual awards ceremony, as well as maintaining the legacy and administration of the Calgary Professional Theatre Awards Society.
What You’ll Do:
- Attend monthly board meetings (1 – 2 hours; online/virtual)
- Offer strategic input and help guide organizational decisions
- Support planning, logistics, and execution of the annual Betty Mitchell Awards
- Take on roles aligned with your interests or expertise, such as:
- Fundraising & sponsorship outreach
- Social media & communications
- Website oversight
- Awards coordination
- Nomination committee selection
- Secretary & administrative duties
Who We’re Looking For:
- Calgary-based individuals with professional or volunteer experience in theatre
- Passionate advocates for the Calgary theatre community
- Reliable and collaborative team players
People with any of the following skill sets are especially welcome (but not required):
- Fundraising & development
- Sponsorship coordination
- Marketing & communications
