The Alberta Society of Artists is seeking new board members to bring us towards our centennial. Established in 1931, the Society was recognized as a charitable organization in 1984 by virtue of our strong mandate for advancing art education. We aspire to advocate for the visual arts as a natural resource available to all.
We particularly require people with expertise in human resources, fund development and programming. The board meets monthly 10 times annually. It is a working board that is supported by two part time staff in our gallery in Calgary. Board members are expected to contribute to committee work which is vital to our operations. We also have a TREX contract with the Alberta Foundation for the Arts therefore benefit from the vitality of that program and the staff that manages it.
