Calgary Stampede 2027 Poster Competition
Deadline to submit: December 5, 2025.
The Calgary Stampede Youth Poster Competition is a unique youth achievement opportunity that provides talented youth with the opportunity to showcase their talent on a world stage. Generously funded by the Brandon Flock Foundation, the Dustin Peers Memorial Scholarship is one of Canada’s largest art scholarships. Talented young artists between the ages of 15-24 from across Alberta are invited to submit their artwork each fall for the chance to design the artwork for the Calgary Stampede Poster and take home the first place prize of a $10,000 scholarship.
Competition details:
- Top 30 competitors to receive masterclass workshops, mentorship and studio time with experienced local artists.
- Top 8 competitors to receive art supply reimbursement and further artistic development coaching from local artists.
- Top 8 competitors to receive scholarships.
- Winner’s poster art to be featured as the 2027 Calgary Stampede Poster.
- Deadline to submit is December 5, 2025.
Criteria:
- Young artists ages 15 – 24 – must be 15 as of December 5, 2025.
- Must be a current Alberta resident.
- Submission of any two or three still medium works from artist’s current portfolio.
- As the final poster will be in a non-digital art medium, you may choose to include one digital piece only, as your artwork submission #3.
- The vision for the poster is not required in the initial application; only participants in the program will create and submit their vision for the 2027 Calgary Stampede Poster.
- If you have one piece which is considered western art please include it, however it is not a requirement for the initial application.
- Written statement of how being a part of the Calgary Stampede Youth Poster Competition will impact you.
- Written personal statement describing your career and education aspirations.
- Fully completed application form (see details below).
