Call for Puppetry Stories

Puppets are everywhere in Calgary! Big or small, serious or silly — puppets are elbowing their way into theatres, classrooms, production studios and hearts.
We’ve got puppet companies, awards, puppet teachers, and productions popping up all over town. And don’t forget: thousands of newcomers bring their puppetry memories from around the world — like Vietnamese Water Puppets, Indonesian Shadow Puppets, and Turkish Karagöz and Hacivat.
Puppetry is a global tradition, and we’re celebrating that at Puppet Power 2025!
We’re collecting short video stories from people of all backgrounds, abilities, and cultures. Tell us about your puppetry roots, your favourite puppet memory, or your connection to puppets. Whether it’s passed down, newly discovered or deeply personal, we want to hear it.
The stories will be compiled into a powerful video playlist for Puppet Power 2025.
