Story
The rat! He destroys crops. He carries disease. He terrifies women and children. Thank goodness for Alberta’s Rat Control Program, protecting families since 1950. Report a rat! Do your part to keep the province rat-free.
Inspired by the real history of Alberta’s Rat Control Program, Crumbs is a savvy social satire about a fictional team of rat-catchers on their daily quest to eradicate Public Enemy No. 1: The Rat. Our team will catch more than they bargained for, however, as their work draws us down the complex maze of Albertan identity and that ever-elusive hunt for the Alberta Advantage.

Roles

- Gerald (Gerry) Kaskamin, Department Chief: Man, Indigenous (North America), 60 years old.
- Rhonda MacMillan, Office Manager and Dispatch: Woman, written as White but script can be adapted, 50 years old.
- Connor Green, Pest Control Officer: Man, written as White but script can be adapted, early 20’s. Performers from or having close Newfoundland ties preferred, Newfoundland accent preferred for the role.
- Jason Mosley, Parliamentary Secretary Conservation and Wildlife Government of Alberta: Man, written as White but script can be adapted, 30 years old.
