Position Overview

Lunchbox Theatre is seeking a data entry supervisor to support an archival and community engagement project celebrating the company’s 50th anniversary.

This Canada Summer Jobs position provides an opportunity for youth to gain meaningful employment experience while contributing to a creative, community-driven initiative. The project will result in a unique publication: part archival collection, part storytelling project, and part lunchbox-themed cookbook. The successful candidate will assist in collecting, organizing, and digitizing stories, photographs, and recipes that reflect the rich history and impact of Lunchbox Theatre.

Canada Summer Jobs Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada

Project Goals

  • Preserve and celebrate 50 years of Lunchbox Theatre history
  • Engage artists, audiences, and community members in sharing their experiences
  • Curate archival photos, playbills and memorabilia
  • Collect recipes connected to stories, performances and community memories
  • Contribute to a creative, community-based publication

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and organize submitted stories, recipes and archival materials
  • Scan and digitize physical photos, programs and memorabilia
  • Maintain documentation and permissions for all collected materials
  • Archive story submissions received via email and online platforms
  • Review past plays and select excerpts appropriate for publication
  • Analyze and categorize collected content
  • Develop and maintain a structured filing system organized by theatre season
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of all archived data
