Summer Job: Digital Content Assistant

Digital Content Assistant

Deadline to apply: Best consideration by April 24, 2026

We acknowledge that the land we gather on is the ancestral territory of the Siksikaitsitapi — the Blackfoot people — comprising the Siksika, Kainai and Piikani Nations, as well as Treaty 7 signatories, the Tsuut’ina Nation and the Îyârhe Nakoda Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney First Nations. Today this land is home to the Otipemisiwak Métis Government Districts 5 and 6 as well as many First Nations and Inuit from across Turtle Island.

We acknowledge that there has been art, music, dance, storytelling and ceremony on this land since time immemorial and it is in the spirit of this land and its people that we do our work.

The Role

We are recruiting a temporary full-time digital content assistant to join our team from May to August 2026. Calgary Arts Development guides and promotes a growing collection of public art throughout Calgary and seeks to increase awareness, accessibility and community connection through visual storytelling. This position will support the organization’s goals to build, maintain and share a visual archive of public art in Calgary.

Under the direction of the Public Art team, the student will photograph and film new and existing public artworks, including documenting artworks in progress and artists at work during different phases of a project. The student will be responsible for scheduling and co-ordinating photo and video sessions with artists and community partners.

The summer student will also work with the Communications team to edit photo and video content for Calgary Arts Development’s digital media platforms.
