Indigenous Motherhood & Matriarchy Exhibition Call
The deadline for this opportunity has passed.
Now accepting submissions from Indigenous artists from across Turtle Island for the second and third instalments of the Indigenous Motherhood and Matriarchy. Deadline has been extended to January 15, 2021, 11:59pm.
This is an inclusive exhibition that will feature the perspectives of Indigenous women, men, LGBTQ2S, and youth. This is an ongoing initiative with potential for future exhibitions, publication opportunities, artist talks and artist mentoring programs.
Funding has been secured to pay the selected artists an artist fee per artwork chosen. There are no fees to enter. Sales arranged by artists will retain 100%, there is no commission.
Various forms of visual media will be accepted (ie. painting, photography, digital art, sculpture, beadwork, traditional crafts, etc.)
Exhibition Schedule:
- Studio C, cSpace, March 2021 (gallery and online component)
- Arts Commons, June – August 2021.
For those exhibiting in the physical space, reimbursement of shipping costs is available.

- High-resolution images
- Title, year, medium, and dimensions
- Description of each piece as it relates to the theme of Indigenous motherhood and matriarchy.
