Interested in learning more about directing? This workshop’s for you!

Course Description

In this day long workshop, you will gain fundamental tools in directing for the stage: how to communicate with actors and designers; early stages of planning a show; how to direct in a way that is collaborative but concise. Professional director Kathryn Smith will facilitate this workshop and celebrate the art directing – especially the challenging parts! No directing experience required!

About Kathryn Smith

Kathryn has spent their career on new work development, producing and directing independently.

They are the artistic director of Verb Theatre, and a busy local director — working with Lunchbox Theatre, Vertigo Theatre, Theatre Calgary/ATP, Handsome Alice Theatre, Downstage Theatre and of course Verb Theatre!
