The Folk Festival Society of Calgary (FFSC) is seeking passionate and community-minded individuals to join our board of directors in advance of our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in April 2026.

Board Member Role and Commitment
As a board member, you will provide stewardship and oversight of the organization, support FFSC leadership, and contribute to strategic planning and direction.
- Term: Two years (initial appointment)
- Meetings: Board meetings are held approximately 10 times a year (approx. 2 – 3 hours) and annual strategic retreat held on a Saturday in the fall.
- Committees: Each member serves on at least one committee (monthly 1-hour meeting, plus occasional work and requests for input between meetings).
- Engagement: Board members are expected to actively participate in the summer Folk Festival and Society activities throughout the year.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking experienced Board candidates with a passion for music and community building.
This year in particular, we are looking for people with experience or professional backgrounds in:
- Accounting
- Government Relations
- Strategic Planning
- Legal or Governance
