Kathleen & Russell Lane Canadian Art Award 2026

Deadline: June 1, 2026, midnight

This award is for full-time undergraduate students entering final year at a post-secondary institution in Alberta in visual arts (excluding electronic media). Applicants must have good academic standing, provide an artist’s statement and vision, and a maximum of eight images of their work.

One award at approximately $1,000, applied directly to tuition.

Applicant must: 

  • Be a Canadian citizen. 
  • Be enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at a post-secondary institution in Alberta. 
  • Be entering their final year of studies in visual arts (excluding electronic media). 
  • Demonstrate good academic standing (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 2.7 or 70%). 
  • Provide an artist’s statement and vision, and how this award will be helpful in the applicant’s artistic/academic career. 
  • Provide a maximum of eight images of work with accompanying details of title, year, medium and size of each work. 
  • Provide two letters of reference (one must be from a studio professor).

KATHLEEN & RUSSELL LANE CANADIAN ART AWARD

An award for Canadian students working in visual arts (Applied Arts, Drawing, Multimedia (excluding electronic), Photography, painting, Print Making or Sculpture).

Applicants must be registered in full-time study at an Alberta post-secondary institution, entering final year of study.

One award valued at approx. $1,000
