Bring your imagination and talent to the heart of Canmore. The Functional Art Program invites artists to create temporary functional public artworks that animate downtown spaces in fresh and meaningful ways.
The intent of the Functional Art Temporary Sculptures Call to Artists is to introduce new original, dynamic, and functional structures that offer seating, rest, and gathering opportunities to Canmore’s downtown pedestrian zone. These functional sculptures will transform everyday urban landscapes into engaging public spaces, while reinforcing Canmore’s identity as a community grounded in arts, culture, and environmental stewardship.
