Route 22 Artist Collective Gallery is a vibrant hub located in Cochrane, Alberta, dedicated to
showcasing the extraordinary talent of local artists. Our mission is to foster a dynamic art culture within our community by providing a platform for creative expression and collaboration. We celebrate the rich natural beauty of Cochrane, which inspires our artists — painters, photographers, artisans, and more — to capture the essence of our landscape and its inhabitants. Our gallery not only features a diverse range of artworks, including paintings, photography, woodwork, sculptures, and glasswork, but also offers workshops and classes for those looking to hone their artistic skills.
In addition to our exhibitions, we provide over 1,000 square feet of event space, making it an ideal venue for private events and community programs. We are proud to support our local art culture and are committed to inclusivity, welcoming all members of the community to explore and engage with art.

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled, organized and creative marketing and promotion specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that enhance and elevate the visibility of our gallery and promote our events and programs. Additionally, you will oversee the maintenance and evolution of our online gallery shop and website, ensuring it effectively showcases our local artists’ works. This is a flexible, part-time position that allows for remote work, with the expectation of attending onsite meetings generally once a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy Development: Create and implement marketing plans to promote gallery events, exhibitions, and artist showcases.
- Social Media Management: Manage and grow our social media presence across
- platforms, including Facebook and Instagram. Develop engaging content that reflects our mission and resonates with our audience.
- Online Gallery Square Shop: Oversee the creation and maintenance of our online gallery shop on Square, ensuring it effectively showcases the works of our local artists.
- Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local artists, art enthusiasts, and community organizations. Collaborate with partners to enhance outreach efforts. Create and regularly send e-newsletters. Build and maintain our contact list of clients and supporters
- Content Creation: Write and design promotional materials, including newsletters, press releases, and event flyers. Ensure all content aligns with the gallery’s brand voice.
- Event Promotion: Assist in promoting gallery events through various channels, including social media, email campaigns, and community boards.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and provide regular updates to the team.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, preferably in the arts or non-profit sector.
- Social Media Management: Experience managing social media platforms such as Meta is an asset.
- Website Maintenance: Experience in maintaining and updating websites, ensuring content is current and engaging.
- Design Skills: Proficiency in computer design programs (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) for creating promotional materials.
- Point of Sale System: Familiarity with Square Point-of-Sale system Square, as we will be building our online gallery using this platform.
- Organization: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote work environment.
- Passion for the Arts: A genuine interest in the art community and a commitment to promoting local artists.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for building positive relationships
