Movement Research Festival returns for its third year, showcasing innovation in dance research.
The School of Creative and Performing Arts presents the third annual UCalgary Movement Research Festival (MoRF), celebrating the scope of dance research on campus and around the world.
This year’s festival expands partnerships with the Faculty of Kinesiology, Dancers’ Studio West and the Calgary Hip Hop & Street Dance Festival. Events include film screenings, live performances, lectures and symposia highlighting collaboration across art, science and community.
Festival highlights
- November 20: MoRFlix and Kick-Off Party, West Village Theatre, 6:30pm.
- November 22 – 23: TransFoRM, University Theatre, 7:30pm.
- November 24 – 28: Dance Research Conference, featuring the Thomas Poulsen Symposium on Disability and Mixed Ability in the Performing Arts, multiple Main Campus locations.
- December 1 – 3: Dance@Noon, new works by BFA dance majors, University Theatre, 12noon.

Now in its third year, the UCalgary Movement Research Festival (MoRF) showcases dance research through performances, presentations, films and master classes by students, faculty and professional artists (entrevues également possibles en Français).
