Music Creator Scholarship
SOCAN Foundation
Deadline: June 1, 2026
Scholarship amounts: $1,000 – $5,000
The SOCAN Foundation Music Creator Scholarship supports the next generation of Canadian music creators who are currently enrolled in post-secondary education and specializing in music production, composition or songwriting.
This scholarship is intended for students who demonstrate creative promise and would benefit from financial support to pursue their education at an accredited post-secondary institution. Applicants must be Canadian citizens and submit original musical works created within the two years prior to the application deadline.
Scholarships are valued between $1,000 and $5,000 and are awarded as a one-time grant. Funds may be used to help offset education-related expenses such as tuition, course materials, and other costs directly associated with post-secondary study.
Applications are assessed by an independent jury based on artistic merit and alignment with the program’s objectives. Only selected scholarship recipients will be contacted and feedback on submissions is not provided.
By investing in students at a critical stage of their creative and professional development, the SOCAN Foundation Music Creator Scholarship aims to foster emerging talent and contribute to a strong, sustainable future for Canada’s music ecosystem.
