The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Arts Awards Foundation Emerging Artist award supports Alberta’s most promising artists at an early stage of their careers. Artists from all art disciplines including performing, visual, literary, cinematic, architecture and design are encouraged to apply. In 2026, up to 10 Emerging Artists will be selected to receive the $10,000 prize. Awards will be announced in June 2026.
Emerging Artists are defined as those who have mastered their art form through education and/or apprenticeship. Emerging Artists are in the early years of launching a professional career and have created and publicly presented a modest body of independent work.
Deadline is February 18, 2026.
