Social Media and Outreach Coordinator

Alberta Network of Immigrant Women (ANIW) is looking for a creative and driven social media & outreach coordinator to join our team! If you’re passionate about community impact, storytelling and building connections, this role is for you. You’ll play a key role in promoting our programs, engaging diverse communities, and strengthening our outreach efforts across Alberta.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and execute outreach strategies to support ANIW programs
- Create engaging content for social media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Design marketing materials (posters, flyers, digital content) using Canva
- Manage and schedule posts using Social Champ (or similar tools)
- Write and distribute newsletters and email campaigns via Mailchimp
- Support program teams with outreach and communications needs
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
- Monitor engagement and track performance metrics
- Photography, videography, or basic editing (Reels, short-form content)
- Knowledge of social media analytics and trends
- Experience working with diverse or newcomer communities
What You Bring
- Strong skills in Canva and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with social media management tools and email marketing platforms (Social Champ, Mailchimp, etc.)
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to create engaging, audience-focused content
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work in a team environment
- Experience in nonprofit, outreach, or community-based work is an asset
