Soft Revolution with Carrots
2Peaz Artist Collective
Date: Sunday, December 7, 2025
Time: 1 – 3pm
Location: Calgary Public Library (800 3 St. SE)
2Peaz Artist Collective, Melisa Centofanti and Sharon Fortowsky will be present to answer questions about the work and talk about how to stage your own miniscule rebellion against the mainstream of our fast food culture.
As 2Peaz Artist Collective, interdisciplinary artists Melisa Centofanti and Sharon Fortowsky have been creating work on the subject of food since 2017. Together they examine, and challenge, the complex corporate food systems and emphasise the value of domestic work such as cooking from scratch and gardening. They see these acts as minuscule rebellions within our current food systems. 2Peaz selects recipes that utilize local, seasonal, affordable and nutritious ingredients. In this exhibition they focus on carrots.
Important Notes:
- As we think of gathering around the table for the holidays, let’s think about making food from scratch year round.
- Find out how art has become a tool for 2Peaz to calm emotions of anger and anxiety around the future of food.
- Join us near the cafe area to gather with old friends, make new ones and discuss ways to make food more affordable.
