Theatre Technician
Term: 8-week position until late August 2026
Trickster Theatre is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented theatre technician to support our summer overhaul, maintenance, and training preparation period. This position is ideal for someone with technical theatre skills who also enjoys organization, creative problem-solving, digital systems, and collaborative work.
The successful candidate will assist in preparing touring equipment, artist resources, training materials, and educational support systems for the upcoming season.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the testing, maintenance, repair, cleaning, and organization of lighting, sound, video, staging, and touring equipment
- Support digital upgrades for computers, software, artist laptops, and sound libraries
- Inventory, organize, repair, and purchase props and technical supplies as needed
- Assist in updating manuals and support resources for artists, teachers, school coordinators, and volunteers
- Create and organize graphics, classroom resources, and digital training materials using various software and AI tools
- Support the organization and preparation of touring rigs, storage systems, and cargo manifests
Qualifications
- Experience in technical theatre production
- Knowledge of lighting, sound, staging, and touring equipment
- Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
- Experience with Google Workspace and digital file organization
- Graphic design and AI tool experience considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license considered an asset
