Laughing Dragon (LDS) is a 2D animation studio based in Montreal, Quebec.

LDS is both a service and original production company creating animation for TV, film, web and advertising.

LDS is seeking a full-time 2D animation production artist who will contribute to the design and productions teams with creating various assets including character designs, turnaround, background concepts and full production-ready art.

We are looking for a candidate with strong illustration, digital painting, and conceptual skills. As a 2D artist, you should also possess a great eye for design, colour, composition, and have strong draftsmanship. The ideal candidate embraces challenge and growth, desire to learn new technologies, thrives in a team environment, and possesses a confident, passionate, self-driven attitude.

Responsibilities

• Create a large range of original 2D artwork from concepts to production-ready assets, in accordance with the artistic direction, production deadlines and technical specifications.
• Perform project updates and revisions as required.
• Communicate with directors and animators to ensure efficient and accurate implementation of designs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of work experience in game, animation, or illustration relevant field.
• A portfolio that demonstrates the aforementioned talents.
• Expertise in Photoshop and Illustrator.
• File organization and time management skills a must.
• Excellent communication skills.
