Join us for our fourth installment of our workshop series highlighting modern dance styles from Africa and the Afro-Diaspora! Ndombolo with Nyasha Nyamaka Focusing on vocabulary, drills & choreography, Nyasha will be teaching some of the moves & grooves associated with the Congolese genre of music & dance known as Ndombolo. This style incorporates a lot of waist movements and full body grooves. Stepping with Nelson Arsenault Nelson will be taking us through the movement and culture of the art form of step dancing. Taking inspiration from African folk & African American traditions & popular culture, this high energy class will involve poly-rhythmic body percussion, vocalizations and group coordination. We are excited to present these two styles to you and can’t wait for you to join us!
