Alberta Dance Theatre

Join Alberta Dance Theatre for Young People, and go beyond just dancing.

Open to dancers ages seven to 17.

Audition Dates: April 29 & May 6, 2018

Alberta Dance Theatre provides an outstanding and unique program where dancers engaging in a professional creative process under the mentorship of professional artists. This process culminates in a show supported by original music, professional lighting design, and original props, costumes and set. ADT attracts dancers from several studios around the city of Calgary who come together for the show while continuing to train at their respective studios.

Alberta Dance Theatre’s season is 12 weeks long, beginning in September and ending with our show early December. In our 38th season, we are the only dance company in Canada offering this opportunity to young dancers.

What is the Audition Like

It will be like a one-hour-long dance class at the DJD Dance Centre (111 12th Ave. SE). You will be with dancers in your age range. There will be a brief warm-up, corner work, creative work, and a combo to learn. There is no need to prepare any movement yourself.

  • Please wear comfortable dance clothes and bare feet.
  • Hair should be tied off your face.
  • Bring a water bottle.
  • Have a great time.
