Art from the Unknown

The dates of this show have passed.

Art from the Unknown is back for the second year! This three-day show runs from October 12 to 14, 2018, and will be hosted by Premier Rachel Notley at the McDougall Centre (455 6th St. SW) in Calgary.

The event was created to celebrate and showcase the growing diversity of art in our city.

Premier Notley is committed to supporting the arts community in Alberta and looks forward to highlighting Calgary and area talent in particular. This free event provides a no-cost gallery space to up-and-coming artists and an opportunity to sell and share their work with the community. Last year we saw over 1,200 patrons and showcased 55 artists. Any artist whose primary income does not come from selling their work is considered to be emerging, and artists of all skill levels are welcome to apply!

The show will provide one 4’x8’ panel hanging space for visual artists; a six-foot table for non-visual art and sculpture with a limited number of plinths available upon request. Accepted applications will be on a first come first served basis, with priority going to artists who have not participated in the past and dependant on space types.

Please forward any questions to mcdougall.events@gov.ab.ca.

To apply, visit airtable.com.

We hope to see you there!

Deadline for Applications: Friday, September 21, 2018, 5:00pm
