Job Opportunities December 6, 2022 Art Instructor The Parkdale Nifty Fifties is a registered charity that provides a place where Calgary Seniors 50+ can come together to enjoy social events, workshops, art classes, bridge and other activities that match their unique needs and social interests. We recognize that seniors strengthen the community and we offer a place for them to enhance their physical, social and emotional wellbeing. The Parkdale Nifty Fifties Seniors Association invites applications for a sessional instructor to teach the following course in the Winter 2023. The Winter 2023 term runs from January 9 to March 30, 2023. Note: The Following Course Offerings are Tentative, Pending Funding and Sufficient Enrolments. Studio Art – Encompassing individual projects in watercolour, acrylic, pastels etc. Course dates: January 9 – March 30, 2023 (3 month contract) Thursday: 9:30am – 12 noon Course description: Technical instruction and creative opportunities of individual projects for a recreational seniors studio art course. Compensation: $35/ hour Qualifications/Requirements: A degree in art and or equivalent relevant experience. Professional achievement or substantial training in the field specified in the job announcement. Ability to communicate effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, language groups, and abilities. Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching experience in multiple mediums. Desirable Skills and Abilities: Energy, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in teaching. The willingness to work with students having a wide range of skills, varying abilities, motivations, and academic or vocational goals. The ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others in a team environment. The ability to use instructional strategies designed for diverse learning styles.
