Artist Advocacy + Advice

The date for this event has passed.

Dick Averns, our Calgary-based engagement coordinator, will be at cSPACE Treehouse North, on Saturday, June 8, 2019, 3:00 to 5:00pm, to offer help and advice on the subject of artist contracts.

This is a partnership with the Organization for Bipolar Affective Disorder (OBAD) as part of a collaboration to provide outreach to a wider demographic. The first half of the session will involve some basic dos and don’ts or be aware of… including Q+A, with the second half of the session directed towards addressing any specific concerns or issues, either as a group or one-one.

CARFAC Alberta has responded to a number of contract questions in Calgary over the last few months and this session is being held in response to this demand.

Bring a copy of any contract you may have questions about, whether you’re the artist that has received the document, or if you feel the need to draft a contract. Whilst this is not a legal advice session, you can still likely learn! Or, just drop by if you’d like to speak with Dick about other art-related matters.

Please note that with a limited time frame, visitors will be seen on a first-come-first-served basis.

Cost: Free
RSVP: None required, drop-in session
Location: Treehouse North, cSPACE King Edward (375, 1721 29th Ave. SW)
