Making Treaty 7 is hiring an Artistic Director.

The Making Treaty 7 Cultural Society (MT7) was founded in March 2013 with the mandate to promote a greater understanding of the history, contemporary relevance and cultural significance of Treaty 7 to all people of Southern Alberta and beyond. MT7 is a major theatrical and cultural work that explores the historical and contemporary relevance of Treaty 7. Also in the works are a new production on the missing and murdered Indigenous women, as well as a documentary film on the creation and methodology of MT7.

As Artistic Director you would develop the artistic direction for all MT7 cultural interpretive projects in accordance with the MT7 vision and strategic plan.

We are looking for someone with:

• Advanced degree or certification in Indigenous artistic management and production.
• Minimum five years experience as an Artistic Director, or leader of an Indigenous arts organization.
• Strong knowledge of the historical and cultural context of Treaty 7 of 1877.
• Demonstrated financial and budgetary competency.
• Strong communication skills with indigenous communities and Elders.
• Must be willing to work collaboratively with the Board of Directors, MD, and all stakeholders.

Salary Range: $45,000 to $48,000
