City of Calgary Arts & Culture Microgrant

Are you looking for support for a public art project, cultural event, or experience that would enhance the local economy and contribute to Calgary’s community spirit and well-being?

The City of Calgary’s new Arts & Culture Microgrant program invites communities, local artists, event planners, non-profit organizations and business improvement areas to apply for funding ($500-$50,000) to supports arts, culture, sport, and recreation events and activities that will take place in Calgary until the end of December 2022.

Calgarians and visitors alike have come to enjoy our city’s world-class arts and culture offerings. As we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s critical that we come together as a community to access these experiences that provide us with so much joy and contribute to our quality of life.

Opportunities for funding include community-run projects, new opportunities for local artists, activations in winter months, and local events hosted by not-for-profits.

These grants are a part of a $3.2M investment in the arts and culture sector that was approved by City Council in November 2021.

Applications will be received until July 31, 2022 or until the total funding allotment has been awarded.
