BIG WIG Exhibition Call

The deadline for this opportunity has passed.

BIG WIG explores the story of wigs from a cultural, medical, historical, fashion, and other need/want based perspective.

People wear wigs for many different reasons—medical, cultural, religious, historical, for performance, for personal preference. Why do you wear wigs? What do they mean to you? Do you love the freedom your wig gives you to transform your appearance? Or do you find them to be a nuisance? Do you wear your wigs proudly? Are you ashamed to wear wigs? We want to know.

NEW FORUM welcomes visual artists, working in art forms such as painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, installation art, and textile art. We encourage artists from all over Calgary to apply to participate in the exhibition. The call for submissions is aimed at artists directly able to share wig culture through association due to cultural reasons, medical needs, fashion connection, historical research, personal preference.
