BIPOC Writers Mentorship Program

The Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society (AWCS) is seeking applicants for Own Voices Alberta 2021, a mentorship program for writers within BIPOC community, who live in Alberta and are at the beginning of the literary journey.

Successful applicants will be paired with well-established mentors, who will help address their individual writing goals.

The program is also meant to create space for writers to self-determine their path to becoming established members of the literary community. Applicants are required to submit writing samples, although published works are not required. Applications are free.

Deadline for submission of applications is on February 26, 2021, 11:59pm MT.

AWCS is running this event in collaboration with the Writers’ Guild of Alberta and with support from the Calgary Foundation.
