Blizzards and Snowflakes Exhibit

Motion Gallery invites visual artists to an open call for the new winter exhibit to run from November 15, 2018, to January 5, 2019, Blizzards and Snowflakes Art Exhibit and Winter Sale, painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, and sculpture will be accepted. The show is open to anyone, emerging artists are encouraged to submit their work, as this is a not for profit artist run gallery, that helps emerging artists get established. Artists can submit up to four pieces of artwork (pieces must be no larger than a 2×3 area) for the month-long show.
Submission must be tied to the theme in some capacity and we will need a small bio and story regarding the pieces.
Important Dates:
- Deadline for online registration is November 8, 2018.
- Art drop off will be November 9, 2018, between 3:00 to 8:00pm, or November 10, 2018, between 12:00 to 5:00pm, either day you must come with the signed contract and labelled artwork.
- Public artist’s reception will be Wednesday, November 21, 2018.
- Christmas party/art sale December 1, 2018 and we will try to host two other events, yet to be decided on.
- Artists participating will also have a chance to plan their own events if they want to invite their own groups to the gallery.
- Art pickup date will be Saturday, November 10, 2018, between 12:00 to 6:00pm.
Costs:
- Entry fee is $80 for members of Motion Gallery Society.
- $125 non-members, this show will hang for almost two months and during the Christmas season.
- The gallery will retain 15% of the sale as the gallery commission, Artists will receive 85% of sales. Any artwork not sold will be picked up by the artists January 5 and 6, 2019. Any work not picked up will be stored at $50 a month.
Four art pieces per artist can be entered and are to be juried into the show. You will be notified if any of the work is not accepted. All mediums, 2 and 3D accepted.
All artwork must be wired properly, and ready to hang, no clip frames and saw tooth hangers will be accepted. All art must be available for purchase, original, any prints of original work must be labelled as prints.
Contract, art details, and tags must be brought to the gallery with your work at drop off times, payment must be received by the November 8, 2018, late entries will be charged a late entry fee of $20. There’s is limited space for this show, early registration is recommended.
